What are SDGs?

SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals) are global goals spanning from 2016 to 2030 that were stated in the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development adopted at the UN Sustainable Development Summit in September 2015. They are made up of 17 goals and 169 targets to realize a sustainable world with a principle of “leave no one behind”. SDGs are universal goals applicable, not only to developing countries but also to developed countries, and we, MK SEIKO, pledge to contribute to the realization of a sustainable society.

Company’s mission statement “Hard work and creativity” and SDGs

“Hard work and creativity” is our founder’s motto. We have inherited his motto as part of our DNA, and as a research and development manufacturer that is “one step ahead of your expectations“, we have released many products that secure customer safety, health, and comfort. We will continue to contribute to the achievement of SDGs through local initiatives and by providing products and services that are environment-friendly and promote healthy and prosperous lifestyles.

Efforts by MK SEIKO to achieve SDGs

Environment-friendly production and product development

MK SEIKO aims for environment-friendly manufacturing, products, and services. Through efforts such as saving electricity in offices, cutting energy used for manufacturing, and avoiding excessive packaging, we are working to save resources. We have also developed environment-friendly water saving type car wash machines and solar powered display. In addition, we have put in place a complete maintenance system to ensure that customers can use our products for long time.

Creating an easy-to-work environment

MK SEIKO has striven to provide a workplace where all employees can work healthily and on an equal footing. At the “Healthy Challenge” held by Nagano Prefecture, we were awarded the “Walking Grand Prize” from the participating 205 offices in Nagano Prefecture. We have also proactively conducted activities to support the health of each employee through, for example, the “Meshi-Repo Program”, which is dietary counselling for employees given by nutritionists. In addition, we have put in place systems to support work styles that complement all employees’ lifestyles, which includes providing childcare support and an environment where women can excel. As a result, we have obtained certification from the national government including “Platinum Kurumin” certification and Stage 3 of “Eruboshi” certification.

Contributing to the community

MK SEIKO believes that contributing to the community is the role of a company with its roots in a community. In addition to promoting participation of employees in community and school events, we support activities of local children, who represent the next generation. For example, we sponsor MK Cup, which is the Nagano Prefecture mini basketball tournament, and we were the area sponsor of the Young Americans Japan Tour.
